Today’s Reading - Luke 4:14-22

Thought:

As Jesus begins His teaching ministry, He does something that is, at the same time, expected and remarkable — He reads from the Word of God. As Jesus reads these words from Isaiah the prophet that pertain to Him, He demonstrates a truth and principle that is still vitally important for us today — that the Word of God continues to be trustworthy, timely, and relevant. Though written hundreds of years before Jesus read them, the word of God spoken through the prophet proved to be true and accurate. And though we live thousands of years after the penning of the Bible, God’s Word is no less true or relevant than it was when it was written. God’s wisdom and power continue to shine through His timeless Word which still has the ability to change lives and lead us to salvation. Thank God for the wonderful blessing of His Word!
