Today’s Reading - Matthew 4:23-25

Thought:

GOOD NEWS! Jesus travelled around the towns of Galilee preaching the good news of the kingdom of God. For centuries, the Jews had waited on the Messiah to come, for the kingdom of God to be established. Now He was here and that kingdom was on the verge of appearing. No, it would not be the physical kingdom that many of the Jews longed for and expected. It would, in fact, be a much greater spiritual kingdom whose borders would stretch to the ends of the earth and that would never be destroyed. It would be a kingdom that would bring salvation to all who entered it through Christ. It was certainly good news and it still is! That kingdom, Christ’s church, still exists today, and you and I have the wonderful opportunity to be a part of it, to be redeemed by the blood of Christ, and to share in the wonderful blessings of being children of God. It is, indeed, GOOD NEWS!
