(Old Testament Prophecy - Zechariah 12:10)

“The I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and
on the people of Jerusalem. They will look on me whom they have pierced and
mourn for him as for an only son. They will grieve bitterly for him as for a firstborn
son who has died.”
(Fulfilled in Jesus - John 19:34)

“One of the soldiers, however, pierced his side with a spear, and
immediately blood and water flowed out.”

Thought:
Roman soldiers were commanded to break the crucified person’s legs not pierce
the side of the person. The Passover sacrificial regulations did not allow for the
breaking of bones, so God fulfilled His Word down to the very detail.

Prayer:
Dear Jesus, I cannot begin to comprehend the love You have for me That You
would be willing to lay down Your life and let blood and water flow from You in order to
redeem me. May I be mindful and thankful every moment of every day that You love me
so deeply and completely. Amen.
