VICARIOUS SACRIFICE

(Old Testament Prophecy - Isaiah 53:5-6)

“But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.”

(Fulfilled in Jesus - Romans 5:6 & 8)

“When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners….But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners!”

Thought:

Centuries before Jesus was born, God, through His Holy Spirit prophesied in explicit details the suffering Jesus would endure for us.

Prayer:

Father, long before I was born, You set forth Your merciful plan of redemption. You saw every sin in me and every foolish path I would take. Yet, in Your unfathomable mercy, You sent Jesus to die in my place. Thank You for bearing my shame on the cross and displaying Your love for me. Please be the king of my heart today. Amen.
