TRIUMPHAL ENTRY INTO JERUSALEM

(Old Testament Prophecy - Zechariah 9:9)

“Rejoice greatly, O people of Zion! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you. He is righteous and victorious, yet he is humble, riding on a donkey — even on a donkey’s colt.”

(Fulfilled in Jesus - John 12:13-15)

“A huge crowd of Passover visitors took palm branches and went down the road to meet him. They shouted, ‘Praise God! Bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hail to the King of Israel!’ Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, fulfilling the prophecy that said: ‘Don’t be afraid, people of Israel. Look, your King is coming sitting on a donkey’s colt.’”

Thought:

Over 500 years before Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey, God foretold it through the prophet Zechariah.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for sending Jesus to earth and fulfilling Your promise. Please help me to always remember that You are righteous and mighty to save, and may my joy be a reflection of Your presence. May I worship You with all that I am and all that I have! Amen.
