PRICE PAID FOR JESUS

(Old Testament Prophecy - Zechariah 11:12)

“And I said to them, ‘If you like, give me my wages, whatever I am worth; but only if you want to.’ So they counted out for my wages thirty pieces of silver.”

(Fulfilled in Jesus - Matthew 26:14-15)

“Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve disciples, went to the leading priests and asked, ‘How much will you pay me to betray Jesus to you?’ And they gave him thirty pieces of silver.”

Thought:

The love of money can cause us to betray even our best friend. The exiles paid Zechariah the same amount to dissolve their covenant with God as the Jewish leaders paid Judas to abandon his loyalty to Jesus. The love of money is the root of all sorts of evil.

Prayer:

Father, there is no greater price that was paid than the blood Christ shed for me. Thank You for the gift of eternal life through Christ. Your promise is true, Your love covers my debts, and You have made me clean. To You, I owe my everything. In You, I am made new. Help me to never  betray You. Amen.
