JESUS WAS TAKEN TO EGYPT

(Old Testament Prophecy - Hosea 11:1)

“When Israel was a child,I loved him as a son, and I called my son out of Egypt.”

(Fulfilled in Jesus - Matthew 2:14-15)

“That night Joseph left for Egypt with the child and Mary, his mother, and they stayed there until Herod’s death. This fulfilled what the Lord had spoken through the prophet: ‘I called my son out of Egypt.’”

Thought:

God twice called His children out of Egypt: first Israel’s descendants, God’s chosen people, and then Jesus, who made everyone — Jews and Gentiles — into God’s people.

Prayer:

Father, strengthen my faith by seeing that, long before Mary and Joseph had to take Jesus into Egypt to escape the wrath of King Herod, You knew it would happen. Oh, how You know every moment of my life. Help me to comprehend the enormous love you have for me, and may that alone be all the sustenance I need! Amen.
