JESUS ANOINTED BY THE SPIRIT

(Old Testament Prophecy - Isaiah 11:2)

“And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on him — the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.”

(Fulfilled in Jesus - Matthew 3:16)

“After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him.”

(Fulfilled in Jesus — Luke 4:18-19)

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has appointed me to preach Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the downtrodden will be freed from their oppressors, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.’

Thought:

Long before Jesus was here on earth in human form, God revealed that His Spirit would be on the child from David’s lineage.

Prayer:

Lord, You revealed that Your Spirit would rest upon Jesus and that He is Your chosen One. Oh, dear Jesus, You have come to set me free!Help me to daily walk in the freedom and the sight that You give. Amen.
